P2- Plan a shoot
The purpose of my shoot is to take photos that match the brief of beautiful Doncaster. This means i have to find photos that show the good side of Doncaster with my style of photography. My style of photography is urban photography. We are allowed to capture the shots in either portrait, landscape, urban and rural shots to showcase the local area. These images will be taken in the public of Doncaster. When taking these photos, we need to make sure that we take health, safety and ethics into consideration. For example, we shouldn't take images of people without their consent.
Mood Board:
Shots taken:
The first shot I plan to create will be in the train station in Doncaster. I will lower the shutter speed down on the camera in order to capture the train moving perfectly for the shot. The image will be a landscape image and the image will follow the golden ratio because the main point of the image (the train) will be on either the left or the right of the picture.
The second shot I plan to create will also be in Doncaster train station. The image will be a man walking next to a moving train. The train will be blurry so I will need to up the shutter speed. The man will be the central point of the image. I plan for the man to be in the middle of the image and for the image to show symmetry.
The third shot that I plan to create will be a shot at a park where I will be capturing the sun going down on a mountain. In order to get this shot I will need to lower the ISO. This will be to make the shot darker and for the sunlight to be the perfect color for the shot. This shot will be a symmetry shot.
The fourth shot that I plan to create will be a black and white image of an older looking man sat on a bench looking at a church. In order to get a black and white image I will be able to use the black and white setting on the camera. I will take this photo to make the audience think how the man is feeling as he might link to the church.
The fifth shot that I plan to create is an image of a man walking by a water fountain. I will need to up the shutter speed for the image to make it a higher quality. I will take this image because it is unique. This will be taken on a landscape lens.
The sixth shot that I plan to create will be an image of the beginning of a street. I plan to increase the aperture to add depth. I also plan to take this shot during sun rise in order to get the perfect color for this shot. I plan to use symmetry in this image.
The seventh shot that I plan to create will be a birds eye shot above the train station. You can get this shot by going to the top floor of the French gate. I plan to take this shot because it is unique and I will be able to get people and things into one shot at one. The image will follow the golden ratio.
The eighth shot that I plan to create will be an image of the cathedral in Doncaster. This will be a low angle shot of the cathedral and will be in black and white. This will be to show how the cathedral is timeless. the golden ratio will apply to this image.
The ninth shot that I plan to create will be an image at lakeside in Doncaster. The image will be a birds eye, high angle shot off lakeside in Doncaster. This will be unique because nobody has done this before and the image will be colorful. I will lower the aperture to make the image clear.
The tenth shot that I plan to create will be an image of the wall of graffiti next to the bus station. I will add the black and white setting to this image. This will be to show that the image is timeless and graffiti is timeless. This image will break the golden ratio rule.
Legal Constraints:
The legal constraints that I need to abide by would be;
I need to make sure that;
I don't take photos in places of public entertainment. This means cinemas, indoor theatres etc.
Photographers need to make sure that they bare aware of the copyright law. The AOP produces guidance on copyright issues.
It is an offence to take indecent photographs of children under the age of 16 or to posses images without a valid reason.
Police officers have a right to stop and search individuals if they can view images on a photo of an act of terrorism.
When taking photos, you must comply with the workplaces health and safety and fire safety regulations. This applies mainly when working in a studio.
Equipment:
The equipment that I will use will be the canon EOS DSLR 250D. This is so I can get the correct camera settings for my images. This means increasing or decreasing the; aperture, ISO, shutter speed and focus settings. I will also use a tripod to hold the camera to get the still shots of the images that I plan to take. I will also use the fisheye lens for my images as they are landscape images. The fisheye lens is 8mm I can also use a zoom lens for the zoom in shots.
Resources:
In some of my shots, I may use models to be the subject of the image. I may also use silhouettes with models in the foreground. This will be to offer a dynamic and interesting shot. For this I will need release forms for my models so i have consent to take images of them and use it as my project. The release form will state where the image will be taken in which the models will take place in. These release forms will protect the model and the photographer if both people abide by the terms on the release form. I will also need a budget for travel. This is because I will need to travel to different locations on the bus and will need to have the budget to travel to these locations by bus. We will also use adobe Lightroom to edit the images.
